Brown rot spreading across blossoms and ripening fruit
Brown rot, from Monilinia fungi, blackens blossoms and then races through ripening fruit, leaving tan-gray spore tufts and shriveled mummies that hang on the tree. A grazing horse can go down hard, with flared nostrils, brick-red gums, staggering, and collapse coming on within minutes. Rabbits Toxic
Rabbits should never nibble peach leaves, bark, or twigs, all of which carry the cyanide-releasing compounds. Even a small amount can bring on breathing distress and rapid decline in an animal this size. Stick to the occasional bite of ripe, pitted flesh and keep clippings out of the hutch.
Livestock Toxic
Cattle, sheep, and goats are at most risk when wilted peach leaves blow into a pasture after pruning or a storm. Grazing on that fallen foliage can trigger fast cyanide poisoning, with gasping, red mucous membranes, and sudden death in the worst cases. Clear cut branches away from any grazing ground.
Birds Caution

How to propagate
Peaches don't come true from seed, so almost every named tree you buy was budded onto a rootstock. Here is how that works, and why growing one from a pit is a gamble.
