In my Florida orchard, the first harvesting took place in year four. Some dwarf varieties grown in containers will start producing fruit in as little as 2.5 years. Soil quality and available zinc will significantly influence the time it takes. If you notice stunted or slow growth, it is likely due to a nutrient deficiency.

The timing of your harvest will depend on your climate. In humid areas, like Kerala, you can expect an annual crop. In subtropical climates, yields will be intermittent. My experience in Georgia, which didn't work out, showed me firsthand that even with heaters, winter chills delayed fruiting. I would track the frost dates in my area and adjust my care accordingly.
