The applications of neem oil surpass simple pest management, providing families with a natural answer for homes and health care alike. Many of these uses are attributed to azadirachtin and other compounds in neem oil that can combat fungi and insects with relative harmlessness to plants and humans. I have taken five chemical products out of my home and replaced them with this one oil.

Garden Protection

  • Apply 10ml neem + 1L water foliar spray weekly
  • Target aphids at dawn when beneficial insects rest
  • Soil drench roses monthly for root nematode prevention

Skincare Solutions

  • Treat athlete's foot with 5% solution daily
  • Nightly cuticle rubs strengthen nails in 3 weeks

For pet owners, the benefit of using neem as a flea repellent is maximized when diluted properly. My terrier's bath solutions using neem at a concentration of 0.25 percent (0.25% - 5ml oil per 2L of water) kept ticks off her while avoiding using harmful chemicals. Do not use it around aquariums; even trace amounts could affect fish after 15 minutes of exposure.
