What's the essential secret to growing healthy chives?

Sunlight Management

This allows the plant to keep producing new growth. During peak season, I harvest fresh greens about every two weeks. Frequent cutting prevents flowering, which in turn reduces the number of leaves.
Organic pest prevention makes your chives safer. Space plants approximately 8-12 inches apart to allow for adequate airflow. Interplant with marigolds or basil as a deterrent for pests. Check leaves once a week to catch problems early. I went chemical-free once I started inviting beneficial insects. Companion planting creates a naturally balanced garden environment.
